The Baroudeuse RACE is to evolve in the richness of our wild fauna

You will cross Parks, nature reserves where the with animals still seem to find a small place among the men who colonized their land for several centuries. Since then there have been reintroductions like wolf, ibex, bearded vulture, vulture, bear etc… It must be said that a good part had disappeared from the list of wild animals inhabiting our mountains. Not all of them have been reintegrated into their natural habitat, which is the Alps, but today we have to deal with agriculture, expansion, management of breeding areas, protected nature reserves and the ethics of each of these criteria.

We can make here a trombinoscope of some of the most impressive animal species you can meet on your way during one of the The Baroudeuse Bikepacking RACE 2019. Safety rules will of course be documented at the time of the briefing but already work on you and your cold blood. Very often the animals are as surprised as you, see more and they flee, like you! Do nothing and stay calm in all circumstances, enjoy the moment or moments that will be offered to you.

The brown bear is present in Slovenia and you will not find it in France, just like the Lynx which in any case will not show itself so easily. Other rare but smaller species like the black salamander can cross on the tracks, open your eyes!

During the 2018 edition of La Baroudeuse, a loup introduced himself to nose of an adventurer, a few meters. The photos were superb, the moment seemed magical for Pascal the rider. So do you say:
